IIHE invited seminar: From single top quark physics to top-Higgs coupling at CMS

by Dr Chanon Nicolas (IPNL)

Europe/Brussels
Description

Abstract:
Since the top quark discovery at Tevatron, tremendous progress has been made on the understanding of the top quark properties. Rare processes involving top quarks with tiny cross section are now measured at the LHC, among which the production of single top quarks or top quark pairs accompanied with bosons. In particular, the Yukawa coupling of the Higgs boson to the top quark is measured in a direct way using the production of a Higgs boson with a top-antitop pair (ttH). In this seminar, I will discuss recent single top quark measurements, and top-Higgs coupling measurements at CMS.

Bio:
Nicolas Chanon is a CNRS researcher working at the IP2I Lyon and a member of the CMS experiment. He has been working on the searches for and measurements of the Higgs boson. He was co-convener of the single top group in CMS (2019-2021). Today, he works on precision measurements in the top quark sector and on the upgrade of CMS tracker for the HL-LHC.
