Description
Future Lepton-Hadron Scattering and the Electron-Ion Collider
A review is given of past and future deep inelastic scattering experiments and their connection to our understanding of the quark-and gluon sub-structure of protons and nuclei. Particular emphasis is placed on the upcoming Electron-Ion Collider, which is currently under intense development towards realisation in the mid 2030s at the Brookhaven National Laboratory in the USA, with substantial European involvement.
