Holographic thermalization in confining gauge theories
Holographic thermalization in confining gauge theories
12:30 - 13:30
Room: Jean Sacton seminar room (1G003)
I will explain how new tools in string theory and gravity, the so called AdS/CFT correspondence, can be used to shed light on phenonema in strongly coupled quantum field theories, such as the quark gluon plasma. I will then explain how a confined phase in a gauge theory may be realized using these techniques, and argue that confinement can have profound effects on the particular problem of thermalization and equilibration in strongly coupled gauge theories.
