We will welcome you to the IIHE and layout the plans for today's activity.

Nous commencerons cette formidable journée par une introduction à l'Astronomie avec les neutrinos!
Tu en apprendras plus sur les différents messagers cosmiques, les détecteurs utilisés en Astrophysique et bien évidemment, sur IceCube!
Tu pourras également mener tes propres recherches sur les neutrinos d'ultra haute énergie découverts par IceCube!

IceCube en kosmische neutrino's

We beginnen de dag met een introductie tot neutrinoastronomie! Je zal leren over neutrino's en andere kosmische boodschappers, verschillende detectoren die worden gebruikt in de astrofysica, en natuurlijk ook over IceCube! Bovendien zal je op de computer leren hoe men in IceCube hoog-energetische kosmische neutrino's van andere deeltjes onderscheidt.

Discovering the First Source of Cosmic Neutrinos

Time to make a discovery! In this session, you will be working together to search for the first source of cosmic neutrinos using real IceCube data. Click on "Detailed view" on the top of the webpage to see more details of this session!

1 Working group session

You will be divided into different small working groups. Each of these working groups will focus on an essential part of the analysis of the blazar galaxy TXS 0506+056.

2 Bringing the results together

We will reunite, and each working group will show their conclusion to the whole group. Then we will combine all our results and find out if we can claim a discovery!
