Description

Abstract: Muon colliders can reach tens of TeV collision energy without limitation from synchrotron radiation, and their collision energy is entirely available to produce short-distance reactions owing to the point-like nature of the muon. Therefore, they offer tremendous opportunities for fundamental physics at the forefront of the energy frontier exploration. I will present a global view of the very high energy muon colliders physics potential, describe few available sensitivity projection results and outline directions and challenges for future work. The assessment of the muon collider physics potential also serves as motivation and guidance for the machine design studies in the context of the newly-formed International Muon Collider Collaboration.

Short Bio: Dr. Andrea Wulzer obtain the PhD at SISSA (Trieste) in 2005; postdoc at IFAE (Barcelona) and at EPFL (Lausanne); research associate at ETH (Zurich). Andrea is currently Associate Professor at the University of Padova, on leave since 2016 for a joint Staff position at CERN and EPFL.
