Progress in electroweak baryogenesis and bubble wall dynamics 1h

The observed asymmetry between matter and antimatter is a big outstanding mystery in particle cosmology. A potential explanation is electroweak baryogenesis: the generation of the asymmetry during the (first order) electroweak phase transition. Among the different mechanisms for the generation of the matter-antimatter asymmetry, electroweak baryogenesis stands out because of its testibility. The responsible new physics can be probed in the LHC, in electric dipole moment searches and with gravitational wave detectors.
In this talk, I will give an overview of recent developments in electroweak baryogenesis and discuss its theoretical and experimental status. In the second part of the talk, I will pay particular attention to the bubble expansion velocity, a parameter that strongly affects the generated asymmetry and for which we have recently developed the public code WallGo.
