Description
Germanys largest research instrument, the electron-proton accelerator HERA, was in operation at the DESY laboratory in Hamburg from 1992 to 2007. One of the main goals of the 6.3-kilometre-long super electron microscope was to probe the interior of the proton. During its 15 years of operation, HERA provided about 0.5 fb-1 of integrated luminosity to the two general-purpose experiments, H1 and ZEUS. For many years to come, the evaluation of the HERA data will continue to provide unique insights into the inner structure of the proton and the fundamental forces of nature. The speaker will present the latest results on the structure of the proton, based on the combined data of the H1 and ZEUS detectors.
