abstract: After two years of long shutdown of the LHC in order to maintain and upgrade
accelerator and detectors, the LHC run 2 is about to start and to provide us
first data at a record energy of 13 TeV in the center of mass.
After reviewing the present status of the accelerator recommissioning and
plans, I will discuss the CMS detector readiness with an emphasis on the
achievements over the long shutdown but also on the new challenges that we
will face later this year.
