Description

abstract: Quarks are not accessible to direct experiment but calculations in lattice QCD give us the possibility of inferring their properties by comparison to experiment, particularly using very accurate results on 'gold-plated' meson masses and their weak and electromagnetic decay rates. I will describe recent calculations using lattice QCD that allow percent level tests of the Standard Model and accurate determination of parameters such as quark masses and CKM elements.
