Nous commencerons cette formidable journée par une introduction à l'Astronomie avec les neutrinos!
Tu en apprendras plus sur les différents messagers cosmiques, les détecteurs utilisés en Astrophysique et bien évidemment, sur IceCube!
Tu pourras également mener tes propres recherches sur les neutrinos d'ultra haute énergie découverts par IceCube!

Eerst krijg je een les over IceCube en neutrino astronomie. Nadien zal je op de computer leren hoe men buitenaardse neutrino's van andere deeltjes onderscheidt.

Let's discover Cosmic Rays! (PART 1/2)

During this session, you will use real cosmic ray detectors! You will learn how charged particles from the Universe hit atoms in the atmosphere and produce other charged particles which travel down to Earth. You will measure the flux of these atmospheric cosmic rays with a real detector, analyse the data and finally help us to calculate the flux of these particles at South Pole!

The theory behind discovery, discover it with IceCube data! (PART 1/2)

During this session you will work as a researcher on data obtained with the IceCube experiment. When do we speak about a discovery of a new particle? We will teach you all about the mathematical background behind evidence and discoveries in physics. You will then be allowed to apply yourself to the IceCube data to see what we have discovered!
