Description
Computers are widely present in our daily life and are used in critical applications like cars, planes, pacemakers... Those real-time systems are based on common processors which have very good performances except when switching from one task to another. Furthermore, the hardware services involved in task switching add unpredictable overheads. Do you prefer a predictable or an unpredictable car ? By improving one hardware service of usual computer systems, it is possible to improve the predictability, reduce the execution time of tasks (up to 67%) and ensure tasks isolation in real-time computer systems.
