In this presentation we will review the status of the GEM Project for the CMS upgrades, focusing on the IIHE contributions. We will report on all the ongoing developments taking place at the IIHE where a test bench is being set-up to test the complete readout chain of the new CMS GEM detectors and to test all the new hardware and software parts.
