Description

This talk will give an overview of the hardware used in the Data Acquisition (DAQ) system of the GEM upgrade for CMS. After a brief introduction on GEM project, we will focus on the DAQ by presenting its components and their functionalities using the hardware we have in Brussels (hands-on demonstration). Finally, we will show two live examples of DAQs that use modern technologies to monitor and control the readout electronics of particle detectors.
