The 2010 edition of the Belgian Dutch German summer school (BND 2010) will take place from Monday, the 6th of September to Friday, the 17th of September in Ravelingen, Oostende. The school is intended primarily for experimental high energy physicists preparing a PhD in particle physics, in particular during their first two years. The lectures cover both theoretical and experimental aspects of the field. The focus of the school alternates every year between electroweak standard model physics and strong interaction physics. This year the focus for the theoretical part will be on the Quantum Chromo Dynamics. The school will take place at Ravelingen, Oostende which is located next to the sea-coast.

The first lecture is scheduled at 16:00 on Monday 6 September. The school closes on Friday 17 September at 13:00 (after lunch).
Student Sessions Students attending the school the second time have the possibility to give a short (15 minutes) presentation of their thesis work. During the first days of the school there will be a timetable with 18 timeslots where you can write down your name. There will be a PC (ppt2007 or pdf) and beamer.
Excursion: On Thursday afternoon, 9th September at 14:00 a bus will take us to Jabbeke where you will organize a paintball game. Some equipment will be foreseen (protective overall, gloves, headgear, …). Bring with you some reasonably sturdy footwear. For those who are not interested in this paintball-game, there will be some bikes and maps to make a trip on your own.… Registration for one of the activities is necessary.
Farewell Banquet On Thursday-evening, 16th September a farewell banquet will take place in the restaurant Polaris Groentemarkt, 19 , 8400 Oostende.
